Well, Autumn did it! She no longer sucks her finger
and she was so excited to pick up her reward last week.
This was a big deal for her. Having a hamster of her very own was, amazingly,
the only thing she got excited enough about to agree,
on her own,
to stop sucking her finger.
She kept track on a chart for an entire month and then even after that had to wait an extra month what with all the Christmas and New Year's activities.

I think it's so funny that she wanted to name her "Mary" but there were no doubts in Autumn's mind. I've lost track of how many dolls she has now named Mary. Even when she plays make-believe with Heidi, she is Mary and Heidi is Sarah. Go figure. I have no idea where it came from. She's also informed me that she wants to name two of her children Mary & Sarah (to go along with the other 8 children wants, apparently!)

Pet store people...grr. They had the males & females mixed together when we went in to buy ours. So, who knows? But they did say they'd take care of the babies if she ends up being pregnant (of course they would...more $ for them when they sell them!). :)
This could be even more educational than we'd intended it to be.
bye!
