A poll for curiosity's sake

I'm curious, how many of you:

  • Wake up before your kids
  • Wake up with your kids
I have always woken up with the girls and am thinking about trying to get up before they do. It seems like I'd have more time. But part of me feels a little anxious when I am up before them. I always fear that they'll wake up once I do -- ending my alone time and bumping up their waking time. Yikes. Thoughts anyone?

Esther's 2nd Birthday

Esther turned TWO this month!!


There are just too many pictures I wanted to include so I've made some collages instead.
This is the first present Esther opened (from Oma & Opa) and boy was she excited!


SO excited, in fact, that I had to work hard to distract her with the next present.


We went with a beach/swimming theme this year, just for fun.
I was excited to find a toy that would stay above the water for Esther to play with.
Of course, Esther may have to fight Autumn & Heidi for a minute alone with Ariel.
Talk about girlie girls. They love that kind of stuff.

Distraction time -- again!



Esther was SO excited about these little CareBears.
They are just the right size for her little hands.


"Okay, guys. Enough with all the other stuff. Isn't this so cool?!"

I think Esther's presents were a real hit this year.
She especially LOVES these sunglasses.

I'm getting a haircut soon!

This picture came up when I searched "short hairstyles" with Google Images!!!
What a laugh.
But seriously, usually when I'm searching for hairstyles all I can find are old, antiquated styles or 80's, or super-modern-weird styles. I decided to just use celebrity styles this time...

I really wanted to see how many different hairstyles people did with the same cut. This helps me know what else I can do with my hair. I don't want to be limited to one style.


I am by no means a "Paris fan" but I will say that I love her hair.


And of all the celebrities I looked at, she was the easiest to find multiple styles of the same cut.

Wakulla Springs

We went to Wakulla Springs with Mom & Dad Hanson while they were here visiting. Wakulla Springs is the deepest freshwater spring in the WORLD and it's only 30 minutes away from Tallahassee. I was hoping to see some of the manatees but they must've been busy. We saw LOTS of other great wildlife though. And I have never been that close to this kind of wildlife before. It was kind of surreal. It would have been even more surreal if I could have blocked out our boat guide's repetitive jokes...but, meh, such is life. We had a great time despite that -- and in some cases because of that. He did know a lot about the spring (and I suppose each joke was funny...the first time). And kudos to Eric for taking some AMAZING pictures.
